Once Again

So I go off on retreat again this weekend, on TEC #74. For those of you unfamiliar with TEC, check out the website. In a nutshell, it's a weekend of intense prayer and sacrifice, and I've been looking forward to this for months.

Lately I've been coming to terms with some serious healing that God is trying to impart into my life, and it's the kind of healing that involves peeling back layers of scars to remove a centuries-old thorn. Painful, unpleasant, and all around nasty. My faith is being tested through this process, and it's difficult not to let life grind to a halt while I work through this. Still, this healing is a good thing, and I need to see it through to its end.

So please keep me in your prayers, dear reader, this weekend and the months ahead. I'll post again once I'm back.

  2. hello james!
shalom from israel! i'm a filipina temporarily residing here. i chanced upon your blog from another catholic blog and got hooked. your conviction is truly amazing. so it's true what they say - converts make the best catholics. I envy you and your family; mine could use some of your passion in the practice of our faith. i'm learning a lot and feeling good and inspired with what you share.
i have only read your '07 page and your '05 and have a lot of catching up to do - superb reading before going to sleep.
i will pray that you get the most out of this much-excited-about tec.
welcome to the fold and god bless!

  3. I got back last night, and while the retreat was physically, emotionally, and even spiritually draining, it was completely fulfilling. Empty while full, as the paradox goes.

O or Anon, if you're ever in Winnipeg for a May or an October, do you best to hook up with one of these retreats. You can also visit the aforementioned website for links to other TEC locations.
